Okay, okay so we know you're still hanging for some tips. Here are a few "suggestions" shall we call them on how to ensure you capture that memorable moment.

Keep it real

Keep it real (A.K.A. Fun)

Bonds Baby Search isn't a serious business, so entering your bub shouldn't be either. Keep it fun and light-hearted. It's in those moments when things aren't forced or staged when their true character shines, so remember to keep it real.

Light helps

Light Helps

We can't see your bub's personality if we can't see your bub at all. This doesn't mean rigging up some fancy lighting equipment or fiddling around with filters and editing, it just means that light (usually natural light) helps.

STAY IN FOCUS

Stay in Focus

Sometimes a slightly blurry shot that captures your bub laughing their head off is right on the money. So as much as it would be preferable to keep the shot in focus, this isn't a make or break rule.

NOFILTER

#nofilter

Filters are part of life now, so it's perfectly fine to add one to your bub's entry if you so wish. Just try to avoid going overboard. That means leaving off that cutesy border or those Snapchat cat ears or going to town on the collaging and Photoshopping. Rawness and realness is what we want to see!

To enter a video, it must be linked from either your Facebook or Instagram accounts (set to public). This category is optional, however you must enter the main photo category in order to enter a video. Videos must be no shorter than 3 seconds and no longer than 10 seconds.

Personality Plus

Personality Plus

There's no better way to show off their personality than through video. From the cheeky to the naughty, this is the moment your bub's character can really let loose!

Substance over style

Substance Over Style

Avoid editing such as adding music, captions, Snapchat/Instagram animated filters, and special effects. You don't need an expensive camera or equipment, your phone is fine. It's what's in the video, not the quality of the video, that counts.

Sound

Light It Up

Again, if there is one thing to remember when filming it's that light does help. Avoid dark rooms or jerky, blurry footage where your bub is barely visible.

Sound

Sounds

Loud noises, background tracks and music can detract attention from your baby. If you are using sound, make sure it's not muffled and at a reasonable volume.

Uploading Your Video To Social Media

Video entries must be uploaded to either your Facebook or Instagram account. They must be accessible, which means adjusting your settings to make them public. Here are some handy tips on how to upload a video to Facebook and Instagram.
