While the prospect of the little ones heading back to school might be the only thing keeping parents sane during the holidays, for kids the mere mention of school is more likely to be met with a groan or a roll of the eyes. One way to get them excited about the start of a new school year is DIY school supplies - a chance for them to get creative and inject some personality and colour into their stationery. Here are a few of our favourite ideas from craft blogger, Kate Camilleri, which are both easy and fun:
Ruled Pencil Case
Super simple to achieve by buying (or making!) a plain cream pencil case and ruling lines in blue and red permanent pen.
Transparent Pencil Cases
Transparent cases can look super effective when bold stickers are applied. Try any colour cases with gold and white shapes.
Washi Tape Pencils
Go crazy with Washi tape or printed duct tape! You can decorate pencils, pens, exercise books and rulers. Anything it sticks to!
Covered Exercise Books
Paper and glue can transform a plain exercise book to match any existing stationary. You could also use paint and glitter to add extra dazzle!
