I received an email from you about a baby product recall, what does this mean?

We have recently been notified of a failure to include a mandatory fire hazard label on our baby Poodlette Zip Wondersuit. Though there is nothing wrong with the garment outside of missing this mandatory label, child safety is our number one priority, so we have voluntarily recalled any products potentially affected. You can return the product to your place of purchase, with your receipt, to receive a full refund. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience.

How can I tell if my product has been affected? For instance, I may have cut out the sewn-in labels or lost the product tags.
There is only one style that is affected: the Poodlette Zip Wondersuit in navy with white flecks, in sizes 00 - 2 only. All other sizes in this style, e.g. sizes 0000, 000 and 3 are excluded from the recall and are safe to keep using. See below for the full product information on this item:

Are any other Bonds products affected?
No, only the one product we have advised, above, is affected. All other Bonds products have been subject to the appropriate safe guards.

Are all sizes in this style impacted?
No. We are only recalling all affected products in this style in sizes 00-2 as a precaution. Sizes 0000, 000 and 3 are not affected and not part of the voluntary recall.

Sizes 0000 and 000 are exempt, even though they do not include a fire label, as it is not mandatory for these sizes. And, size 3 does include a fire label, which means it is safe to continue using.

Does the recall only relate to products purchased from Bonds?
We are recalling the Poodlette Zip Wondersuit (in the style, listed above) irrespective of where it was purchased from. Whether you bought it from a Bonds store, via our website, or another retailer such as Baby Bunting, Roni Ink, Vivid Black, Curvy Pty Ltd or The Outlet Shop for Kids, the recall still applies.

How do I return my product to receive a refund?
To receive a full refund, please return the recalled product with your receipt or proof of purchase to the original place you purchased it from.

Bonds stores
If purchased at one of our Bonds stores, please return it to any store location, with your receipt or proof of purchase to receive a refund.

Bonds website
If you bought it from bonds.com.au, please have your receipt ready and contact our Customer Service Team via our online form, Live Chat or by phoning 1800 806 906 (Mon-Fri, 8:30am-4pm) to arrange a refund. You will then need to send the product back to us using the below reply paid address, and we'll cover the shipping costs:

Another retailer
If you bought it via one of our retail partners, please contact them directly to arrange a full refund with your receipt or proof of purchase. Alternatively, you can return it to us via the reply paid address, above, to receive a Bonds credit note (as oppose to a refund) equivalent to the value of the original purchase. For this to happen, you will need to contact our Customer Service team on 1800 806 906 (Mon-Fri, 8:30am-4pm) with your receipt or proof of purchase so we can verify the amount the product was purchased for.

Can I still get a refund if I no longer have a receipt or proof of purchase?
As detailed, above, we unfortunately cannot issue a refund on products that do not have a receipt. This is because we cannot verify if the product was bought and for how much. What we can do is offer a Bonds credit note to the value of the product at RRP. To receive a credit note, please contact our Customer Service Team via our online form, Live Chat or by phoning 1800 806 906 (Mon-Fri, 8:30am-4pm) and send the product back to us using the below reply paid address.

I bought the product from another retailer, but it isn't feasible for me to return it to them. Can I send it to Bonds instead and get a full refund?
If a full refund is what you're after, then you will need to return the product directly to the retailer you purchased it from with your receipt or proof of purchase. We suggest contacting them for their return options.
However, if this is not feasible then you may return the product to Bonds via the reply paid address, above, to receive a Bonds credit note (as oppose to a refund) equivalent to the value of the original purchase. For this to happen, you will need to contact our Customer Service team on 1800 806 906 (Mon-Fri, 8:30am-4pm) with a copy of your receipt or proof of purchase so we can verify the amount the product was purchased for. Again, we wish to apologise for any inconvenience.

After I've returned my product, can I get it back?
Unfortunately not. We do, however, have this style available in a range of other colours here if you wish to replace this item.

In addition to a refund, what other compensation am I entitled to for this inconvenience?
If you are returning the product directly to us, we will cover the costs of all postage and handling so you won’t have any out of pocket expenses.

How did this happen?
We follow international best practice safety standards. Regrettably in this instance, there was breakdown in communication with regards to this product and style only. This error is a rare occurrence and is being investigated to minimise the risk of it happening again.

How do I know that this won’t happen again?
By following international best practice safety standards, the risk is reduced of a similar situation occurring again. This recall is a voluntary decision made by Bonds.

What are you doing to ensure everyone knows about this? I’d hate for another baby to be exposed to this?
We are following all of the regulatory requirements of the ACCC with regards to public notification. This includes notices in all of the retailers who sell these particular products as well as notices on our website. We have also instructed that all retailers remove from immediate sale the affected items and return these items to Bonds.
