She's been dubbed the "next big thing" by Vogue and now Nicole Millar is joining the awesome ambassador foursome as the face of our new Home Grown™ Tee range. The Aussie indie singer first rose to fame in 2014, when she featured on the Peking Duck track, "High," which went on to win an ARIA Award and reach number two on Triple J’s Hottest 100. As a star on the rise, we couldn't think of a better ambassador to round out our tribe of home grown talent. We caught up with Nicole, fresh from her Vogue Fashion's Night Out Bonds store appearance, to find out which style of tee style rocks her world.
What does being an Aussie mean to you?
Being an Aussie to me means living in a beautiful country. We get to take advantage of beautiful weather, beautiful beaches, a relaxed lifestyle, and it also means I can work and email from the beach
Where did you grow up and what was it like?
I grew up in the Sutherland Shire in Sydney which is why I love the beach!
What’s your approach to your everyday style?
I like to keep it casual but fun. I like to wear lots of coloured pants and tees with sneakers.
What kind of T-shirt wearer are you?
I love a cropped tee.
How do you like to wear your staple tees?
At the moment I’ve been tying up all my tees as I find it’s more flattering on my body type.
What do you look for in a tee?
At the moment colours are my thing. Anything that stands out is good to me.
What’s your secret style tip?
Find out what works for your body type, don’t be afraid to wear too much colour and be different.
What other Bonds items do you like?
Bonds trackies are soooooo comfortable I wear them around the house all the time.
What does a typical day look like for you?
I wake up around 8am and normally have breakfast while reading emails. I then go to personal training and then I’ll either go to the studio or a meeting. Every day is different at the moment. I’ve been on set all week, it’s fun and keeps me excited. I can’t do the same thing every day otherwise I feel stuck.
What’s it like to be able to pursue your passion on a global scale?
For me, I’m just doing what I love and I’m so grateful for people to like what I’m doing and appreciate my art.
What has been a pinch-yourself moment in your life so far to date?
Touring with Troye Sivan was incredible, I met so many amazing people and got to perform to thousands of people each night.
