Our Intimately range is bringing All The Feels, from our beautiful lace fabrics and stunning colours, to our diverse and refreshingly unique campaign talent – from the amazing Andreja, to our supporting roles who are rockstars of their own accord.
We met up with the faces of our Intimately campaign, Maia, Shanaya and Madeleine, to chat underwear, body positivity and more…
Meet Maia Cotton
Hailing from New Zealand, Maia Cotton first began her modelling career after being scouted on Instagram. Now, based in New York, we caught up with her to talk about her new campaign for Bonds Intimately...
Q: Tell us about the last time you had ‘all the feels’.
The last time I had ‘all the feels’ was when I came home to New Zealand and surprised my Nana. She had no idea I was coming home and it was such a happy moment.
Q: What do you miss most about your home, New Zealand?
I miss my family and friends of course, but also little things like driving on the open road, the amazing food and the beach. Kiwi summers are the best!
Q: If you could, what would you tell your younger self today?
I was definitely an over-thinker growing up, so I would say… don’t sweat the small stuff. Life is much more enjoyable when you smile more, enjoy the journey, and embrace each moment!
Q: What do you look for when shopping for underwear?
I look for a combination of style and comfort. I love underwear that is chic and playful, but can also be worn all day without trouble.
Q: What pieces from the Bonds intimately range do you love the most and why?
The Intimately Triangle Bra in Love Bird. I love this bralette bcause it can be styled under a tank or oversized tee to add to your look.
Q: What does body positivity mean to you?
To me, body positivity is accepting and embracing my body and the bodies of others for the incredible thing that it is. It is about celebrating our differences and loving them.
Q: What does 2019 have in store for you?
2019 has a lot in store for me I hope. The modelling industry is unexpected and so full of twists and turns that it can be hard to predict exactly what will happen. Kicking off the year with Bonds is an exciting start though!
Q: What’s one word you’d use to describe how you feel about your body?
Powerful.
Meet Shanaya Peters
As a proud body positive advocate, Shanaya Peters has risen from the suburbs of Perth to model for Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty label. The gig was a dream come true for Shanaya, who is of Indian descent and is a strong supporter of diversity in the fashion industry. Now, she's back in Australia to star in our latest campaign for our new women's underwear collection, Intimately.
Q: Tell us about the last time you had 'all the feels.'
The last time I had all the feels was when I shot this campaign. I had to pinch myself quite a few times on set because I couldn’t believe I was modelling for one of my favourite Aussie brands that I’ve been wearing for most of my life. From socks to singlets to bras and undies, Bonds has been with me through all my feels!
Q: How did you get your start as a model?
I’ve always had a passion for diversity and inclusivity within the fashion industry, which drove my ambition to become the representation I didn’t have when I was growing up. I was always a tall girl, and was always asked if I modelled. Initially, I submitted some head shots to agencies in my city, and was invited to meet the agents at Vivien’s Model Management in Perth. They liked my look, my personality and what I stood for. The rest is history.
Q: What was it like modelling with three other amazing girls for this campaign?
Modelling with three other girls for the campaign was so much fun! All of us had a different look and represented the diversity of Australia; different ethnicities, skin tones and body types. Though we all looked different, as women, we shared similar experiences and stories that brought us together. Sharing laughs and jokes between shots and dancing together were the highlights.
Q: If you could, what would you tell your younger self today?
I would tell my younger self to stop comparing herself to the women in fashion advertising and media. I would tell her there is beauty in her differences and that one day those differences will be her strength. I would tell her to always remain true to her beliefs and never dim her light for anyone. I would tell her to continue to walk in her purpose and that everything will always work out in the end. The list goes on and on! There are so many things I wish I could tell my younger self but I wouldn’t want her to make any different choices because those choices are what’s shaped and moulded me into the person I was destined to be.
Q: How do you feel when you wear underwear? What does it represent to you?
When I wear underwear I want to feel comfortable, confident, sexy and supported. If I don’t feel that way when wearing my undies, they will simply never get worn and sit in my underwear drawer with the tags still on. Underwear is an understated, and perhaps, overlooked part of a woman’s daily routine. We wake up and pick out a pair of undies for the day thinking what pair flatters us most with the outfit we’re wearing, what pair will be the most comfortable throughout the day, what will give the least wedgies, etc. I’ve often changed my undies several times before putting my outfit on to make sure I feel comfortable, confident, sexy and supported so that momentum carries on throughout my day. Good undies = A good day!
Q: What pieces from the Bonds intimately range do you love the most and why?
I really really love the unlined lace bralettes. They are so light, perfect for travelling and fit in the smallest of purses for a quick change after shoots and on long haul flights. They come in the cutest colours - my fave is the black. Super sexy, yet super casual and comfy, they give me allllllll the feels!
Q: What are some of your go-to self-care rituals?
Self-care is so important to me and something I set aside time for each week. I love slathering on my favourite clay face mask at the end of a working week, watching a crime documentary and cooking my favourite foods. Leading a balanced life is my biggest self-care hack. I can be a business babe and be strict on myself to meet my personal and career goals throughout the week, but I also remind myself to have fun and enjoy the process of it all even when things aren’t going my way.
Q: What does body positivity mean to you?
Body positivity to me means being unapologetically confident in the skin you’re in. Having positive thoughts about your body and acknowledging that our bodies do so much for us. It’s about inclusivity and embracing all shapes and sizes. I’ve always said women's bodies are like abstract art; various shapes, sizes, angles and colours that make up one beautiful masterpiece!
Q: What does 2019 have in store for you?
What lies ahead each year is always a mystery. But I hope 2019 is filled with great opportunities for me to continue to utilise my platform to vocalise my passion for diversity and inclusivity within the fashion and modelling industry. I’m currently living in London and enjoying the different lifestyle and fast-paced modelling world.
Q: What’s one word you’d use to describe how you feel about your body?
Empowered.
Meet Madeleine Hunt
With sun-kissed freckles and the kind of red hair Mad Men’s Joan Holloway could only dream about, Madeline Hunt has a look that cannot be easily forgotten. Originally from Newcastle, the 21-year-old newcomer is quickly making her mark on the modelling world and is one of four gorgeous faces to star in our new Intimately campaign. We chatted with Maddy about all things body positivity, underwear shopping and more.
Q: Tell us about the last time you had 'all the feels.'
I would have to say the last time was the shoot day for the campaign. Being surrounded by a great, supportive team and getting the opportunity to work alongside some amazing, unique women definitely brought me all the feels.
Q: If you could, what would you tell your younger self today?
Love your body for what it is! Everyone is different and everyone has insecurities so there is not point missing out on life by hiding away.

Q: As an e cup, what challenges do you face when shopping for underwear?
It was always hard to find bras in a size 10E, especially ones that weren't too overpriced, making bra shopping a long and expensive search. Also, being an E cup size and wearing size 8 clothes, it was also difficult to find bras that had enough support but that could be worn under today's clothing styles.
Q: What pieces from the Bonds intimately range do you love the most and why?
I absolutely love the Demi Tee Bra. It's the perfect bra for larger cup sizes as it's supportive, yet comfortable and soft, and can easily be worn under tops and singlets due to the thin straps.
Q: What does body positivity mean to you?
Body positivity means lifting each other up and loving one another no matter our size.
Q: What does 2019 have in store for you?
This year is going to be one of travel for me. I am hoping to see as much of the world as I can and experience as many new things as possible.
Q: What was it like to model with three other amazing girls for this campaign?
Modelling and spending the day with Shanaya, Andreja and Maia was such a great experience. They were the loveliest girls and I felt so much support from them throughout the day. Spending the day in your underwear in front of a camera is not the most typical of days, but getting to do it with three other strong women by my side built my confidence and made it that much more fun.
Q: What’s one word you’d use to describe how you feel about your body?
Unique!
