SHANINA SHAIK REVEALS HER HEALTH AND WELLBEING SECRETS

Being an international model, Shanina Shaik never goes anywhere without her vitamins. With fashion as her career, the Aussie supermodel refuses to sacrifice her health for work. Now, as the face of our new Bonds Swim campaign alongside Jay Alvarrez, Shanina recently revealed her own health and wellbeing routine to Body+Soul. Read on...

As a model who globe-trots a lot, Shanina's number one rule is to always be prepared while on the road.

“It can be quite difficult [to balance health and wellbeing with a busy schedule] but I travel with vitamins, snacks, drink lots of water and get enough rest, and before I begin my day I try to get into the gym or go to a workout class. I’ve learnt, as well, that the best thing you can do is find a workout that’s right for your body type. My favourite workouts are Pilates and yoga.”

Vitamins and probiotics are her secret daily weapon. “I take mine daily! I take probiotics, especially, for energy, clear skin and to boost my metabolism.”

When it came to figuring out what was affecting her energy levels, Shanina says it was a light bulb moment in her life.

“A year or two ago I had an ‘aha’ moment when it came to my health. I became vegan, and I try to eat a vegan diet for 90 percent of my meals. It changed my energy, digestion and bloating issues for the better. Many people still haven't tried a plant-based diet and some would consider it off-beat, but I would suggest to anyone to try it or give it a go.”
