WEDDINGS, WORKOUT WEAR & MORE WITH IGGY AZALEA!
Posted in: people

As we reach the peak of our 100th birthday celebrations, Iggy Azalea, our newest brand babe, took a ‘mo out of her day to chat all things workout wear, weddings and what’s next on the cards for her.

— Q&A —

What drew you to work with Bonds in the first place?

I wore them growing up a lot; every day and that’s no lie. I think it was something that satisfied the 13 or 14-year-old me because I really did look up to [people like] Miranda Kerr and Ruby Rose. I felt like they were so powerful and sporty and sexy and I wanted to be like that.

We recently saw you in the hilarious ‘Carpool Karaoke’ with James Corden wearing the Bonds Denim Shirt. Is that one of your new favourite items?

I like the button-up; I think it’s cool. It’s always good to have basics like that, but to be honest with you, I’ve actually been spending more time in the workout gear and not working out [laughs]. I really love the leggings and the crop top, which I’ve been wearing everywhere… it’s like pink and purple floral one. I wear it everywhere and I feel bad wearing it to the supermarket when I haven’t actually worked out… which I do a lot!

Congratulations on your recent engagement to Nick. How do you plan on juggling married life and your busy career?

Nick and I have been dating for almost two years, so I’ve kind of gotten the crash course in having to be everywhere at one time; performing but then still being home for dinner. I’m really lucky to have Nick; he’s so understanding and so good with the travel because they travel a lot in the NBA.

Do you plan on wearing a trusty pair of Bonds Cottontails on your wedding day?

100% yes.

We love that you always take risks on the red carpet, do you have a stylist or is that your own personal style?

I have a stylist, she is also my best friend Alejandra. She’s my style muse but we definitely collaborate on all my looks, after all I’m the one wearing them so I have to feel comfortable in my own skin when I’m walking down that carpet.

Do you feel or have you ever felt pressure to look a certain way?

Absolutely, every girl feels the pressure to have a certain type of body, or be able to look good in a certain type of outfit. It’s only natural when there are beauty standards in play.

What advice would you give to young people struggling with their body image?

You have to be comfortable in your own skin; if you’re not then you have no hope of becoming a unique individual.

What's on the cards for Iggy for the rest of 2015?

Recording my next album. I’m so excited for everybody to hear it.
