Celeste Barber made headlines recently during a segment on The Today Show when, while promoting Bonds Baby Search, things went a little sideways with hilarious consequences. While the comedienne and Instagram star was chatting away, host Georgie Gardner tried to soothe a crying baby by picking her up only to make the toddler wail louder. Soon everyone including Karl Stefanovic had erupted into giggles, a reminder that working with children and animals doesn't always necessarily go to plan.
To celebrate the launch of Bonds Baby Search 2018, we spoke to Celeste about motherhood. Famous for her funny imitations of celebrities via her Instagram, which is followed by over 3 million people (!!) Celeste shared with us her thoughts on everything from parenting to parodies.
How does it feel being a part of the Bonds Baby Search 2018 family?
It’s great! I entered my oldest son in the Bonds Baby Search in 2012. He didn’t make the cut so it’s nice to be a part of it now, it feels like we are all winners now!
What has motherhood taught you?
That sleep is overrated and wine becomes your best friend.
Kids surprise us every day. How do Lou and Buddy surprise you?
When they punch me in the face at 6am to wake me up, that’s a surprise.
How has motherhood changed you and your career?
I feel I’m so bloody satisfied now with kids. When I’m at work, I get really excited that I have the boys to go home to, then when I’m at home with the kids I get REALLY excited that I have to go to work.
What inspired you to start posting parodies on Instagram?
I love poking fun at myself and the celebrity culture.
What do you love most about being a mum?
Built-in love.
What’s your fave Bonds product and why?
The Zippys. My boys are fully out of them now but they are the only piece of clothing I have kept of theirs, they are so soft and so bloody easy.
What is your best piece of Mum advice?
Just keep doing what you’re doing and don’t take advice from anyone that’s famous online!
