MEET EMMA

Q: What do you love about yourself?

A: I love that my laugh makes people laugh even when my jokes don’t quite hit the nail on the head.

Q: What do you want to change in the world?

A: I want to us to treat the world better; it’s our home and it deserves tender loving care. That might just be the Virgo in me trying to nurture everything! But I do honestly believe we as humans have a responsibility to be kinder to one another and above all our planet.

Q:Have you been to Australia before?

A: Yes I have! I’ve been to Brisbane, Sydney, Gold Coast and Melbourne. The last time I was in Aus I was about 12 or 13 and I remember buying my first ever bra from BONDS! Funny how things come full circle huh?

Q: What's been fuelling your creativity recently (inspiration, goals, etc.)?

A: I find that different cultures inspire me, travelling, people, but most of all nature! I’ve recently joined an online course on environmental and wildlife conservation. I have been studying up on sustainability, and I really want to understand how I can become more green and conscious about my choices. The dream is to have a farm one day, where I rescue lost animals, grow plants and maybe start a sustainable brand that contributes to saving the planet.

Q: How would you describe your own personal style? What's one of your favourite things to wear currently?

A: Very colourful and extra. I try to buy fewer clothes and mainly statement pieces. I tend to wear things that I love all the time, styled differently and obviously that way my wardrobe lasts. I like to dress as different characters; I tend to fluctuate from looking like someone’s dad on holiday to a cowboy or a playboy bunny in stripper heels!

Q: What does Get Real mean to you? And why do you think it’s so important.

A: It’s means letting go of all the self-doubts and just f***ing going for it, man! What have you got to lose? For me it’s about embracing who YOU really are; the good, the bad and all the bits in between. It’s important to me, because at the end of the day life’s too short for me to carry heavy worries on my shoulders. I already carry such heavy weight on my chest (that’s a joke about my boobs btw if you didn’t get it)!

Q: You have such an unfiltered, authentic Instagram. Is social media a natural thing for you?

A: I think it’s because I’m genuinely just a very honest person and I suck at lying so it’s just easier for me to say it like it is.

Q: Do you have a personal mantra that gets you through tough times?

A: Be motived by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others.

Q: You also do photography, when did you start taking pictures and what inspires you most?

A: I studied fashion photography at university, but what really got me started with image making was pretty much my childhood. We were always travelling, living in so many different countries and meeting different people all the time. My parents would always film or photograph everything. It made me appreciate capturing memories, we have soooo many albums back home. I love that photographs become a time capsules in themselves, so I started collecting disposable cameras and shot every time we travelled. I like capturing people, telling their story in a fun way and it’s important for me to bring out the best in everyone I come across.

MEET TEHYA

Q: What do you love about yourself?

A: What I love about myself is that I don’t give up.

Q: What do you want to change in the world?

A: I want to change that way we love each other in the world, by accepting everyone for who they are.

Q: Have you been to Australia before? If so, where was your favourite place and why?

I haven’t been to Australia yet, but I plan on going one day.

Q: What's been fueling your creativity recently (inspiration, goals, etc.)?

A: My fire to express myself as of recently has come from my personal goal of becoming free.

Q: How would you describe your own personal style? What's one of your favorite things to wear currently?

A: My personal style is all over the place. I’m discovering what I like to wear and what I feel comfortable in but I always go for whatever is the most colorful. One of my favorite pieces to wear from my closet are these Gucci slides my mom just bought for my birthday.

Q: What does Get Real mean to you? And why do you think it’s so important.

A: Get Real means to me that you’re honest and true to yourself. That’s so important because if you’re not real with yourself how will anyone else be.

Q: What’s your favourite piece of beauty advice?

A: My favorite piece of beauty advice is - It’s not about what’s on the outside but what’s on the inside that matters.

A: My secret talent is cooking.

A: Get Real means to be your true self to me, which is important because nobody can be you but you and that’s real!

Q: You have such an unfiltered, authentic Instagram. Is social media a natural thing for you?

A: I do not consider social media “natural” at all for anyone because it has caused real life social interactions to become “unnormal” to younger generations.

Q: Do you have a personal mantra that gets you through tough times?

A: My personal mantra that gets me through the tough times is allowing myself to view the given situation with love and not fear because your perception is your projection.

Q: What sort of self-care practices do you try to integrate into your daily life?

A: My self-care practices consist of meditation, prayer, positive affirmations, self-reflection, reading spiritual books and of course drinking water!

Q: What is something you wish you could tell your younger self?

A: I wish I could teach my younger self about the spiritual journey I am on today. What’s your favourite piece of beauty advice? My favorite beauty advice was to NOT pluck/tweeze/wax my eyebrows.
