Myf sums up Boobs
Posted in: people
Myf_boobsIf you were driving around town, hopping on a bus or making a stop at a Bonds store in the month of October, you would have noticed our iconic Bonds logo morphed into a different word: BOOBS. This was all in the name of lifting Aussie boob-esteem and supporting healthy, happy women as we launched our awesome new bra range for women of all shapes and sizes. We enlisted TV presenter, broadcaster, writer and all ‘round loveable Aussie chick, Myf Warhurst as the BOOBS campaign ambassador. She scoured the streets to find out what women feel about their boobs and the result was a little startling with most lacking confidence in their own and favouring the boobs of their friend or neighbour. Now that her job is done, we caught up with Myf to reflect on her time as the BOOBS ambassador and hear what she learnt.
What was the main reason you came on board to represent the Bonds Boobs campaign?
It was a fun, cheeky campaign that was very much up my alley. And for someone like me who struggles to get the right bra to fit, I was happy Bonds had created a range for those of us who need a cup size that's a bit bigger and has more support than a tissue!  It's such a relief that there's now more to choose from, and don't have straps the size of a small car. Bonds is a much-loved Australian brand so I was honoured to be asked. And let's be honest, like most people, I've worn Bonds my entire life.  And when it comes to clothing memories, I'd rather forget most of my sartorial choices, but I've always been proud of my undie choices - which are usually Bonds.
Which Bonds bra is your fave and why?
I'm still making my way around the styles, but right now, I'm wearing a hot pink Super Boobs one (Shaper Top) and it's magnificent!  It makes a change to the usual wide-strapped granny bras in beige that I usually get to choose from at the shops.
Name 3 things you love about being a woman.
I do love that we ladies have the ability to bring life to the world (not that I have, but I'm immensely proud of all my friends that have gone down that path). This would have to be the greatest thing. The other two things? Well, for me personally, I couldn't live without my hilarious girlfriends and their sense of humour when it comes to solving the problems of the world.
What was the most surprising thing you learnt from interviewing women on the streets as part of the Bonds BOOBS campaign?
I think I was a little shocked at the number of women that didn't feel proud of their boobs, that they weren't confident about them. But without a doubt, they'd always say that their friends' boobs were magnificent. So the most important thing I did learn is that I think it's time we ladies show the same kindness that we show to our friends, to ourselves. I also learnt that ladies love talking about their boobs with other ladies. And that we're hilarious about it.
What's next on your agenda?
I'm headed to the UK shortly to work on some exciting projects. But I'll be escaping the winter chills of the other side and be back for an Australian Christmas. I couldn't possibly miss it. Clearly, I'll fly a long way for a seafood lunch.
What's your all-time favourite Bonds item?
I think I've worn a white chesty Bonds singlet since I was a baby, so that would have to be my fave. However, the new bras are vying for the position as my favourite. For all the obvious reasons.
